In Loving Memory
Our mission at Voices for Kidney Patients is fueled by a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals affected by kidney disease. Sadly, In the course of our work, we have witnessed the loss of precious lives to the challenges of kidney failure. Among those we remember are Anser, 23, Raja Muhammed, 27, Sidra Saqib, 25, and Yasir Mohammed (44). Yasir Mohammed, one of the seven patients under our support program, passed away shortly after we began our work. He urgently needed medical care, but the lack of accessible facilities in his area made treatment impossible due to the distance.
Regrettably, one of these individuals faced such overwhelming financial burdens that it tragically led to their decision to take their own life. Another patient, who was a new parent, experienced the devastating effects of kidney failure, leaving behind a young family. The other patient, due to complications during dialysis and the unavailability of immediate access to emergency medical facilities in their village for kidney patients, could not receive timely nephrologist intervention.
These heartbreaking stories motivate us for the critical need for our ongoing efforts to support and advocate for those affected by kidney disease. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by these losses.
Yasir Mohammed, age, 44
